We have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Turkey Day Minneapolis 5K due to ongoing logistical and operational challenges.
Turkey Day Minneapolis 5K is a staple for many individuals and families throughout the Twin Cities area and beyond, and therefore, this was an emotional decision to make. While we won’t get to see you running on the streets this Thanksgiving, we hope you have a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.
More than a half a million Minnesotans, including nearly 200,000 Minnesota children, are facing hunger right now. That means four children in an average-size second grade classroom are hungry. Their parents are rationing groceries and skipping meals right here, in the breadbasket of the world.
Second Harvest Heartland has fought back the worst of the COVID-era hunger surge and avoided depression era-levels of hunger by expanding SNAP and stepping-up emergency food support. Still, far too many of our neighbors are missing meals and peace of mind so we need your help!
Each year, Turkey Day Minneapolis helps raise thousands of dollars and collects thousands of pounds of food for Second Harvest Heartland. Please lend a hand to help to feed our neighbors facing hunger!
